Oxygen Therapy

This 3-6 hour course is designed for First Aiders who wish to extend their skills by using oxygen in cases of trauma and as an adjunct to AED and resuscitation

On completion of the course the candidates with be able to:

• Understand the need for safe storage of oxygen cylinders
• Understand the requirements for maintenance of oxygen therapy equipment
• Recognise the effects of hypoxia
• Administer oxygen in cases of trauma
• Use oxygen as an adjunct to bag-valve-mask resuscitation
  

On successful completion of the course candidates will be issued with a certificate of competence valid for 1 year.
