Emergency First Aid at Work - Appointed Person in the Workplace
A one-day or 6 hour course designed to meet the needs of the
workplace. The Course consists of theory and practical sessions.
Training is ideal for staff giving support to First Aiders (ie
those who have completed the 3-day course) or to take charge in
their absence.
On completion of the course the emergency first aider will be able
to:
- Assess and prioritise a first aid incident
- Carry out resuscitation
- Deal with an unconscious casualty
- Control bleeding and manage shock
- Recognise and deal with injuries and conditions before medical help arrives
- Maintain records and first aid kits
On successful completion of the course, candidates will be awarded an
Emergency First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years.
